Blue Suede Shoes

Closing the Teach For America Blogging Gap

Behind the Shoes

I am a 2010 Memphis alumna. I graduated with a bioengineering degree from my beloved Penn State, where I worked for Teach For America as a campus campaign coordinator during the 2008-09 academic year. I was also a corps communications operations coordinator at the 2009 NYC institute and a school operations manager at a middle school at the 2011 Atlanta institute. I taught algebra 1 and geometry at a public high school and coached the swim team. The summer following my second year, I was an Urban Leaders Fellow in Memphis, working part-time with New Leaders. I am a first-year law student at the University of Pennsylvania and dual-enrolled in master’s program in education policy.
